"Why Won't Democrats Unite To Fight Islamic-Muslim Terrorists?

I am a retired Ex-Pat living abroad. Ex-pats I know and Nationals all ask me continually, "Why do Democrats refuse to unite around WHOEVER is in power to fight the ENEMY which are Islamic Muslim fanatics NOT BUSH and Republicans !!!!

I spoke with four brave Marines 2 Soldiers and 3 Airmen on
R & R. I greeted them and thanked them for their dedication and service. I then invited them to dinner.

They asked me...as a Disabled - Retired Vietnam Vet...

"Why do Democrats like Kerry, The N.Y. Times, the Left-Wing Media and the neverending 'Bash-Bush-Blame America Leftist Democrats' continue to do what they are doing?

Don't they know it only serves to embolden the Islamic fanantics and eat away at US Troop morale"!

So say those wonderful Service men on R & R I bought dinner for last night.

I had no answer, what say you?

Why ???

Once again these men expressed to me those sentiments to me. They are the very military-front-line combatants being affected by it...than ask why? I did when I asked why was in Vietnam.

During the Vietnam War I was Task Force Commander at An Thoi, and my tour of duty was 13 months, from the end of Tet to the beginning of the Vietnamization of the Navy units.

I1 - One would have to be deaf, dumb and blind or simply
oblivious to the left-wing bias in 90% of the main stream
media.

2 - The perception of the actions of Democrats in particular
has been to undermine and misrepresent the ONLY
central point at issue being that, wanton, immoral, and
heinous madmen and woman who not only teach, preach
and carry out murder and mayhem are out to
kill "AMERICANS", that means Republicans and Democrats.

They do this in the name of their God Allah and are called
Islamic-Muslim terrorists. They want to replace civilizations
ours with theirs ... Liberals as well. . . get it?

3 - Our young military men and women especially those he
mentioned have every right to express those sentiments.
Left Wing Liberals are saying and doing things that appear to
aid the enemy and if you aid and give comfort to the enemy
you embolden them to fight harder...shed blood, their blood.

I thank this Veteran for his service and for the question he
submitted. I thank him for defending the Constitution
allowing those herein to say the things they wish, however
partisan, informed or un-informed.

That is easy to answer. First of all we do want to get the terrorists that attacked America. That man happens to be Bin Laden. The one that Bush stated he "was not worried" about while he was so involved in his war with Iraq. He lied to us, all of us Americans, to go into a war with a country which had done NOTHING to us. Thousands of these young men and women in the service, which we whole heartedly support, have given their lives to accomplish WHAT? So Hussein is at trial, WHERE IS BIN LADEN? The terrorists are probably laughing at America, at our President and his supporters who go after the wrong man for a crime another man committed. I think that would embolden them far more than knowing that in America we have the freedom of speech and that we can voice our dissent when we disagree with what we feel is a wrong choice. Do you really believe that the terrorists guage their violence on what a portion of America believes? Hardly. They are not watching tv cheering for the liberals and then going out to wreak havoc. That is a totally absurd idea. I think our troops need to be asking why a man who dodged his military service thought he had the right to finish his daddy's war rather than go after the real threat to America. And how is it that an ex serviceman can even stand behind Bush? AT least Kerry served his country and can admit when he makes a mistake. Unlike Bush who just keeps digging in deeper and deeper because he refuses to admit his. We all support our service people, and to many of us, that support means to bring them home safely from a war we shouldn't ever have gotten involved in.

there are brave men and women spilling blood and dieing for our country who are democrats......


Sometimes its easy to make the world black and white.
its simpler, doesn't require digging too deep, like a bumper sticker. Unfortunalty that is not the real world is.........

for example, your question and their question is about dissent. or rather having an opposing view, get conflated with not wanting to offer security.

This of course is crazy and dishonest.

Are terrorist a threat, yes.
Should we fight them tooth and nail. yes.
Should we sacrifice the constitution to do it, no.

The left wing media is a myth. Those who subscribe to it are troubling only because they add to the problem

The free press is the fourth estate, it is the last check on and balance on the government.


The Republican party has control over the executive, legislative and judicial. with no real check or balance.......

The last hope is the free press, if the adminstration is effecitive in diminshing thier role in society by creating a liberal media myth, then our country is in trouble....

the last check and balance would be effectively silenced.

with regards to the morale issue...the truth is bad for morale. anything that poses doubt is bad for morale......
it is part of the military culture.....

NOTE however, that the military does it job with pride, but the military does not choose which wars to fight, men in suits do. politicians and civilians.


which is why

it is up to the civilians to question to hold politiicans and the men in suits accountable.....this is what our troops die protecting....




Emboldening the enemy, is stretching it.

for example if the president overreaching his executive powers and holding him accountable is

considered embolden the enemy......this is ludicrous.

You have a simpler world view of black and white....
you are willing to sacrifice the constitution to defend a political party........

i am a firm believer of country before party......you just aren't there yet.

because only rednecks have balls my grandfather was in the marines 32 years my cousin is currently in westpiont academy this country has to remember these people hurt our mothers and fathers of our children over here how many lives have to be taken for people to understand 911 was such a victory for them how many poor children our without there parents today forget democrats get immigration to send them all back good or bad our people that were killed didnt have a choice why should they this is our country USA god bless.

Islamic terrorism is not the problem, the problem is illegal wars and occupations of countries that do not belong to us.

what emboldens them? what specifically? saying the president has made mistakes is something that cannot be set aside at times of war. that is the burden of fighting for a democracy, where the freedom of speech is valued even when what is said may not be.
