nicely it appears like you just about are already. i'm gaining knowledge of a overseas language in college(yet i do not use all of it the time, in basic terms possibly an hour or 2 an afternoon besides to homework) and that i'm on my 2d 12 months and that i'm nevertheless no longer fluent. i'd say particularly below a 12 months in u . s . a . of america can make you fluent. Being round english each and every of the time ought to help alot.

Approximately 6 years if you have a standard I.Q. and grade average. Certain people learn faster. But to be able to "Speak and Understand" english only takes four years by american high school standards.

Speak it all the time, most foreign people always revert back to speaking their native language because it is more easy for them. I know this because I work around Asians and Mexicans. I have told them that if you don't get use to speaking it all the time you'll never learn it fluently. That is one reason they have foreign exchange student, they live here so they are forced to speak the language weather they want to or not it makes it easier for them. Now if you continue to live in America and still revert back to speaking your foreign tongue you will never learn it.
