the mission isn't completed yet. those that say because there is oil in Iraq should explain why gas is over $3 a gallon if THAT were the reason.

Simple. They are in charge of almost all the logistical support in the region.

That's right. I said "logistical". You may want to look that up. That's the problem with a lot of the skepticism out there. You just don't understand all the factors involved in the big picture.

Oh, and the Iraqi government has publicly said they still need us. I guess you missed that too!

The American vetted puppet regime of Iraq follows Dubyas desire to keep American troops there.

The people of Iraq, and the people of the world (except the brainwashed), want the USA to leave Iraq.

Because the bad guys are still there, and the Iraqi forces are not yet fully capable of dealing with them.
Your policy toward maintaining forces in Iraq will depend on the message you want to send to the bad guys. If you want your message to be that, if they are nasty enough and persistent enough, you will bug out and let them continue to be nasty, then you bug out. If you want the message to be that if they are nasty then you will pound them into the ground, then you pound them into the ground. It's that simple.
