ive came across a website tht describes a grizzly bear would be a better choice regarding my question above http://www.lairweb.org.nz/tiger/conflict... but i am still have doubt with it...this is because, polar bear got the longest canine teeth compared to others in bear family and no doubt they are design tht way to "kill" their prey(seal, walrus, penguins etc.). Plus, polar bear's palm is so strong tht when combine with their weight, they could even break thick layer of ice to hunt meal underneath(e.g fish). And when fighting, bears will normaly stand up to show their size and strength. So,how could grizzly wins when polar are bigger in size?? But,what if they are equal in size?? Who will win?? Polar got longer canine teeth, big strong palm, thick layer of fat while grizzly on the other hand got strong jaw, longer claws, and more muscular(tht what the website tell, but im not sure bout this one).Erm,so i do hope anyone with real facts will answer my doubtnes...Thank you. >_<

The fact is that it depends on a lot. Both animals are seasonally active, and for different seasons. Both animals have different habitats and a variation in size and strength between genders and individual animals. The odds are that if one of each met face to face, one or the other would be extremely lost and most likely starving, such as a polar bear going as far south as northern canada in search of food or a grizzly somehow making it to northern siberia. The odds will always be skewed.

A recent interesting report had a polar bear - grizzly hybrid in the wild. A thing like this can happen only when two equals meet. So, they do meet in the wild, though not too frequently.

Grizzlies go after prey which are much tougher to get, like running down a herbivore and so on. Grizzlies are also more accurate with their aim - they catch fast moving salmons rather well. Grizzlies fight very often with large and tough opponents - they know when to run, how to escape getting hurt and how to kill.

Polar bears are super strong. They can kill small whales. However, they mostly go after prey like seal pups. Their only equal in their range is another polar bear and fights between them are infrequent and rare.

I'd go for the grizzly to win just because it's a better fighter.

I think the problem is we're dealing in absolutes. One animal won't neccessarily defeat another evenly matched animal every time. Case in point with wolves and grizzlies encounters can go either way. 50% of the time an exceedingly large bear can drive off a small number of wolves, the other 50% of the time a large strong pack drives off a rather weak bear. Such an encounter will be decided on a case by case basis.

I think the polar would win. Griz are big and tough but are designed for digging roots to eat as well as hunting animals, but most of diet is veggies. polar bear is a top level predator, not much veggie stuff growing out on the pack ice.

sorry no factual stuff, they never meet up in the wild

I say Polar Bear! I spent time up in the arctic in Alaska and had to go through bear safety training. There were techniques in trying to save yourself if a grizzly attacked but as far as everyone told me if we were confronted by polar bears we were dead meat!

No strive against ought to ensue! For one element the gorrilla eats plants and would not galvanize the submit to the Grizzly ought to ignore concerning the gorrilla. except ofspring are being attacked no strive against ought to come. The The Gorrilla must be sensible adequate to sidestep the submit to yet without room and an insane Grizzly properly its in all likelihood that both ought to inflict harm a lot so as that neither ought to stay lengthy after this sort of conflict. contained in the accurate the Grizzly ought to stay lengthy adequate to inflict a lot harm that the surviving Gorrilla ought to die from poor tooth and claw harm. The Grizzly ought to perrish simply by unusual twisting strenght and extra perfect timed blows to the bears head.

well i will agree to things that u have mentions and i will support u as even though grizzly have long claws but still it will have difficulty getting through poler bear skin.......so that makes a great advantage to the polar just like a shield against grizzlys attack.....so i think whatever the website says i will put my money on polar....

Depends on the environment. If a polar were in grizzly territory, he would be at a disadvantage because of the camouflage factor, and also the temperature. And vice versa.

With everything being equal, age, sex, etc., I would go with the Grizzly anywhere except in the Polar bear's climate or in deep water!
