South Koreans are only across the border from their friens in the north but have tried to build a relationship through talks and negoations while Americans, an ocean away have disbanded talks and threatened to shoot down missile test, which the north agreed to not test if America continued talks with the north. It seems that your (America's ) belief is based completly on false over - hyped media reports given by your government

it was America who pulled out of talks between you and DPRNK. Do sum research on the topic other than watching "Team America World Police"

you have the second largest army in the world with more ICBM's than NK will even think about building. As for feeding their people, the entry pay in your own army is below the poverty line, not to mention your govenments poor response to disaster relief.

your right on most accounts, because we feel that if they were to ever get the missile to attack here, they would and than invade south Korea. our whole thinking is that they're insane, they support terrorist and they hate us, at least from the media's point of view. but from my point, its simply that we know they have nukes, and we're scared of how they would use it. Also, we have troops in south Korea so we don't want them getting in the way of any action, but I think that's pointless because north Korea knows if it does any thing china doesn't like or want, china is just going to take them out, hopefully that answers your question at least a little bit.

The US gov't isn't scared its cautious. The US has ceased talks with the North Koreans because they refuse unilateral talks with the US, Japan, South Korea, China, and Russia. Where do you pull your information from? It seems as if your not very informed. As far as news media the US is a democracy, news media and government are separate where as N. Korea its news strictly controlled by the government. Did you see the reports out of N. Korea after their missile tests on July 4th? Full military parades and reports of successful launches. The world seen a different out come, failed missile tests.

Hey I don't care if North Korea tests missiles... In their own air space. When they start shooting them across the world it makes me nervous. Why else would they want ICBMs if not to attack us? They know damn good and well that we have enough warheads to obliterate them, why would they provoke us like that? It makes no sense to me, I really wish they would spend that money feeding their people instead of building missiles. Missiles are expensive... just one of them could feed everyone in N. Korea for a week I bet. Think about it.

1. Any possible (especially long range nuclear missile) threat risks security.
2. As far as I know North Korea makes good profit from weapon trade with terrorists or other extremist groups. These missiles would mean an awfully big threat (imagine another 9/11 this time with planes loaded full with nuclear bombs...)

We saved South Koreas ass and all we get is disrespect from you people. You live a much better life than your north counterparts. Maybe you should think about that instead of trying to build a relationship with a bunch of communists.

That's just stupid. There wouldn't even be a South Korea if it weren't for America.
It is for us to decide what is a threat and what is not a threat, what needs to be addressed with might and where to use diplomacy. We are after all the ones much of the world counts on to protect you.
