There are those that think the 'War on Terror' will "end" once the Terrorists are defeated militarily. This of course won't happen because the Troops were never fighting an army. It is also not learning and discarding the lessons of History. This particular enemy has a long memory and Bush will be gone in 18 months leaving the world to sort out the result of his folly.

Bush is so short-sighted that the 'end' he sees is only to the end of the block. What he doesn't seem to realise is that he is positioning the US as 'terrorists' in the eyes of the rest of the world and this is particularly unfair when he doesn't have the backing of many of his citizens. As you say he's not fighting an army, so all that happens is that millions of innocent victims get caught in the line of fire, and US military workers are sacrificed unnecessarily. The only way to fight terrorism is through intelligence. Unfortunately, Bush doesn't have any.
