In the UK there is a different post code for grtoups as small as 10 houses, and with some blocks of apartments it may have it's onw postcode. It's not like many other countries, where a specific city will have a single code. codes are usually 6 figures. 2 letters and 1 number, then a group of 1 numbers and two letters. Some London codes have only 1 letter and 1 number for the first part. so WC3 6MD will be unique to perhaps 10 houses in the WC3 area of London.

It depends where. It works kinda like this W= west London E= east London S= south London SE= south east and so on. If you have an address but not a post code go onto the post office website and use the postcode finder.

a London Post code is a a code the post office uses to find a a house inside London. if you take the Bristol Code BS5 is the area and the last three area the street that the house is.

you can also use the post code to find where somewhere is on intertnet maps

hope that helps
