if you are talking about 40 or 50 then try a book store or even an aution house (for second hand books or old books)
You could also try the publishers or wholesalers (WHSmith wholesale books, or at least they used to in the early 80s)

Of course from the book store. And if u need the books in large quntity then u can go to the main retalier of all the book shope.

why don't you go round local book shops and ask them where they get book from. say it's for corse work and most shops won't mind.
