even if we had 1.95 a gallon for a while its not going to last. We're better off trying to become oil dependent because that is just going to delay the inevitable. In about 2 decades there wont be enough oil left to meet global demands and then prices are going to sky rocket.

Expect to pay $10 a gallon, the demand for oil is greater than what can be supplied (it is being pumped out of the ground as quickly as is possible).
So, oil will be sold to the highest bidder, how much would you pay to keep yourself from freezing to death in the winter?

Obtaining all the gas we want is an American's right. I think that the government should provide it to everyone for free.
