You can shove a bunch of clowns in it and start your own circus act! It pays for itself. :)

sorry, i vote for the truck.
benefits of smaller car - gas mileage, ease of parking, fits in some low garages.
benefits of truck - can see over traffic so less stressful in rush hour, my quad cab has as much leg room as a regular sized car, more comfortable seats, can pick up garage sale items, appliances or furniture, the grandsons love riding in it as they also can see, it is not difficult to park either surprisingly, the mirrors have less of a blind spot than a car, if in an accident less chance of bad injury - have been passenger in an accident in small car and had neck surgery because of it - that car crinkled up like tin foil, people can see you coming easier, i don't feel like I am sitting in a hole or cave while driving, the headroom, the back seat folds up to reveal a fold out flat platform for groceries, it can pull a trailer or boat easily. there are probably more benefits, but ah well. my truck holds up to 6 adults, and men have plenty of leg room in back. it is great in winter - I get to work much easier than my car driving coworkers and have picked them up when they are stuck in the driveway, and i can drive through areas after a rain where the water is up over the street and smaller cars would die as it is too high for them.
I have a dodge ram 1500 4x4 quad cab and absolutely love it (and the 6-CD player among other great luxury features that came with it). I also have a convertible but it is a 71 olds 442 with big block, so definitely not a smaller car - can not stand compact cars, sorry.
My husband has been a bodyman/painter for over 20 years, and he sees the shape of those small cars when they come into the place to be fixed. Most can not be fixed as they are totalled out. Trucks do not seem to be damaged as much when they come in, nor are bigger cars. He will not even consider a smaller car after all that he has seen.

I guess that would depend on what you use the truck for.If you are just using the truck for everyday travel than its obvious a car is better on gas,but if you are using the truck for work, like construction or a trade/plumber/electrician/etc..than there are no benefits in the car, since you could not haul anything real heavy or large in size in a small car without possibly tearing it up and definately could not haul a boat or trailer with a small car.

I would say gas mileage. Living in areas where ice can build up on the road, you would want a smaller car because the back end is heavier making the vehicle easier to control.

smaller cars have a lower center of gravity..meaning if you get hit, youre less likely to roll the car versus if you were in a truck.

more control! and probably better gas mileage. and you can fit more people in a car than in a truck since.. in my state anyway... it is illegal to transport people in the cargo back area of a truck
