When I look at a yahoo box score and scroll to the pitchers, some times i see (H, 1). For example on the box score for the all star game, National League pitchers had it but American league pitchers didnt. Can anyone tell me what it means?

It means Hold, it pretty much the same as a save just in the middle of a game, a good middle relever will get a lot of holds, its when they come in and their team is ahead and when the leave the game their team is still ahead.

It stands for Hold. Basically it means if your team is already in the lead you don't F it up until the closer gets the same. I can't remember exactly what the requirements of a hold are.
Ah if the pitcher enters with a lead of fewer than 3 runs and doesn't give up the lead (or earn a save by finishing the game) he is awarded a hold. I think it's a fairly new stat.

OPS is calculated by adding a player's on-base-percentage to his slugging percentage. Basically On-base percentage = (hits+walks+hit by pitch) divided by (at bats plus walks plus hit by pitch) Slugging percentage = (total bases) divided by (at bats). Total bases: 4 for HR, 3 for triple, 2 for double, 1 for single

Hits--One league makes its pitchers bat, and one has designated hitters.
