Vedic means that it has some relations to Vedas. Vedas are " a pourusham" which means that not written by a person. The ancient Rishi's have found and drawn the cosmic energy in the form of vedic mantra. Sage Vyasa compiled innumerable vedas in 4 veda called as Rig, Sama, Yajur and Atharvana. That's why he is also called as Sage Veda Vyasa.
