It is something you either love or hate. If you hate it sucks. If you love it, there are still some road bumps, as being placed in a project with an idiot manager by an idiot CIO and having it fail after two years. But I am not bitter. (grin)
All in all, I have enjoyed the hell out of it. Wrote a major application for a billion dollar a year company that was in service for 12 years until the idiot CIO showed up. Moving on to the next company.
The occupation gives you a lot of flexibility, and not a small amount of money. If you like to do it. If you don't, it is pretty tedious.

It relies upon what you pick to get into programming. Im doing an internship as a structures administrator(IT help) at an section workplace. And im experienced in both aspect of pc programing from the malicious to the safe practices aspect. and that i locate alot of it interesting, it ought to also be rewarding in case you learn programming to the position you could code your own classes. I code in seen straightforward, C++, Java, personal living house web page, HTML, Perl, Python and some others. yet once you've a everyday interest in computers i'd say try it out.
