because zidane, despite being a soccer genius obviously has a bad temper as we can see by remembering his other headbutt incident as well as him stomping a saudi arabian player and recieving a 2 game suspension during the 1998 world cup. Also, if everyone's so disgusted by the racial slur that materazzi ALEGEDLY uttered... then they should relax with badmouthing the italians... i'm a proud italian as i'm sure all italians are and we have every reason to be. we have a great culture and we won the world cup! forza italian, forza azzuri and forza materazzi!!!

ZZ was doing the world a favour by dropping a greaseball. Plus he was trying to make soccer worth watching for Canadians, by putting some good hits into it. And by Canadians, I mean the regular hockey Canadians, not the shipped over greaseballs who go dancing in the streets here during the cup.
