Sun in Taurus

(The Sun is in Taurus from approximately April 20 to May 20, depending on the year).

There is something very solid about Taurus natives, no matter what the rest of their charts say about them.

Though they are dependable most of the time, this generally shows itself more in habit than in outright helpfulness.

Taurus natives are sensual folk--and this includes sex, but extends to pleasures in all areas: they delight in the sensual pleasures of food, a comfortable blanket, a richly colored aquarium to look at, the smell of flowers or spring rain, pleasing melodies coming from their stereos, and so forth. Some might even say they live through their senses more than most.

When Taurus natives work, they work hard. They do it with a steadiness that may rarely be considered quick--rather it's a dependable, plodding, and steady effort that has its payoffs. Security is immensely important to Taurus--some of them actively seek wealth, while others are content to be "comfortable". The Taurus definition of "comfortable" may not be exactly the same as the rest of the signs, but comfort is definitely a driving force.

Although hard-working, their fixed and comfort-loving nature sometimes makes them appear lazy. This is only because they separate work and leisure so well. When they work, they work hard, and when they play, they don't really "play" as such...they relax. A Solar Taurus who has kicked his or her feet up is rooted there--you'd be hard-pressed to get them to move. On a mental level, you'll likely have the same problem. Taureans stick with things and ideas, and therein lies one of the reasons why they are known for their stubbornness. Taurus is a fixed sign, and they have a fair measure of tradition and steadiness in their make-up that keeps them rooted.

The possessiveness associated with Taurus shows up in all areas of life in some way. Taurus likes to own things (and sometimes people). A nice home, a piece of land (this can be modest), a paid-off car, that aquarium mentioned earlier, a couple pets, maybe a solid business...In love and relationship, there is an earthy kind of possessiveness that may be considered jealousy by some, but there is actually quite a difference between being possessive and being jealous. Taurus natives are rarely jealous and petty. They do, however, think of the people they love as theirs--it adds to their sense of security.

Moon in Scorpio

While others may find security and comfort in material things, Moon in Scorpio people seek out emotional intensity. No matter what, there is something very intense about Lunar Scorpios. They are diggers when it comes to the world of emotion--they can see beyond facades and cut right to the core of a person. This ability to "see" what isn't obvious to the rest of the world can be intimidating to others or wildly attractive, depending on the audience.

Their deep-seated need for transformation and rebirth can manifest itself in the lives of Lunar Scorpios in different ways. Most have powerful, emotionally intense lives. Some feel like it is beyond their control -- these natives seem to attract emotional upheaval, and their lives appear to consist of plenty of dramatic ups and downs. However, when accepted as an emotional need, rebirth and change doesn't need to be so dramatic and overwhelming. In some way or the other, Moon in Scorpio natives seek out intense experiences. If their lives are regular in any way, there can be an unconscious need to test their own strength and stir up emotional excitement. Self-awareness and acceptance is probably the best way to handle this deep need for emotional drama.

Doing things halfway or having meaningless relationships simply doesn't fulfill them. Lunar Scorpios want all or nothing.

Moon in Scorpio people often have a strong fear of betrayal. They seek out commitment, and feel the need for a partner to give up something for them. Some will put the people they love through a series of tests, and these are not always conscious. Their apparent suspicion can be trying for the people who love them. However, once committed, Moon in Scorpio people can be the most loyal and protective partners around.

Even the shy ones have enormous presence. Their lives are emotion-driven, yet many Moon in Scorpio natives spend a lot of time controlling and mastering their emotions. Their intuition is enormous, although it is sometimes self-serving.

Moon in Scorpio people radiate strength. Even in the absence of experience, they seem to "just know" things. It would be difficult to shock or scare away Lunar Scorpios in the face of emotional honesty and power. Some people instinctively want to lean on them, and other less brave folk run a little scared. Lunar Scorpios have exceptional "radar" that allows them to size up a situation--and a person--quickly and expertly. This ability to understand human motivation and nature can be too close for comfort for some, and enormously comforting for others.

Many Lunar Scorpios are intelligent and astute. Those that use their enormous powers for intimacy and honesty are the happiest, and they make the most interesting and rewarding friends and lovers.

Sun in Taurus: Everything in life revolves around the need for security-- emotional and material. As a child, you should be weaned from a natural possessiveness by being encouraged to share and give things away to others. An inborn sense of discipline will make school and its accompanying rules a real joy. Although you may be a plodder, what goes in, stays in and progress is steady, if somewhat slow. You're natural good looks, charm and sensuality may be dangerous if you're not aware of the facts of life. As a parent, you find it difficult to bridge the generation gap. Your discipline may be too rigid (unless your child is also Taurean). Mothers are very possessive of their children and must learn to let them go. You'll invest whatever is necessary for your child's education (time, money, etc.), but you expect the results to show in good grades and a good job after graduation. Your power is latent and not yet in full expression. Your main task in this life is to learn a truer sense of values and to strive for spiritual truths through practical aspects of life. You're slow, persistent, determined, steady and stubborn, and this usually brings you success. Your strong will power enables you to make long range plans, but you get upset with any changes to those plans, even minor ones. You have your own way of doing things and hate to be contradicted. Others should use indirect action to persuade you. You're direct and your opinions rarely change. You're cautious, especially when faced with new ideas and situations, but your fear of change may keep you trapped in negative situations. You get flustered if not given enough time to assimilate new ideas, which you won't do unless they're of practical use to you. You're kind, gentle, sympathetic and understanding-- a faithful and loyal friend, but also an implacable enemy. You often burden yourself with your friends' problems out of a sense of loyalty. It takes a lot to make you mad, but when you do get mad, you erupt with a fury and can't be reasoned with until you cool down. Possessions and money (and the comfort, pleasure and ease they bring) are important to you. To achieve mastery over physical matter, you must overcome greediness, which is due to a fear of loss, as well as an over-possessive and jealous nature. You view other's affections as a possession due to a deep inner need for security. You're very skilled in business and able to make money as well as hang on to it. You love music and art and excel in any related field. Your sense of beauty allows you to be genuinely impressed with others' appearances, but you often use that beauty-- theirs as well as yours-- as a means to an end. You're usually unaware of inner motivations since self-analysis is not important to you. The power to create on higher levels operates through speech (controlled by Taurus): what we speak is created in the physical world, although not always as we expect or had intended. You must develop your power of speech as you assume your other responsibilities: seriously and practically.
KEYWORDS: possessions, determination, practicality, permanently
KEY PHRASE: I have.

Moon in Scorpio (Fall): Your intense emotions are based on willful desire and you must learn how to handle them. You can be stubborn, impatient, abrupt, moody, vengeful, impulsive, brooding, jealous, easily hurt and tend to hold grudges, but you also have leadership ability, self-confidence and resourcefulness. You won't tolerate interference or opposition to your goals, usually getting what you want, but not always the happiness along with it. You're too judgmental and subtly dominating and you may not have a happy marriage due to pride and possessiveness. You can be too dominating and possessive of your children (especially a male child) or may have been dominated by a parent, usually your mother. You'll sacrifice a great deal out of kindness and your latent willpower is often used for the betterment of mankind. You're passionate about life and sex and use your sense as instruments of pleasure rather than knowledge. You have tremendous observational abilities, shrewd insight and a deep, hidden personality. If the Moon is afflicted, you can exhibit sexual excess, inhibition, perversity or alcoholism. Learn to forgive and forget. Women may be promiscuous and self-indulgent. Men seek a sensual partner they can possess, but, if the Moon is afflicted, the mate can be possessive and jealous.
The combination of your Sun sign and your Moon sign produces a personality possessing a good deal more emotional intensity that is normally observed in the very stable Taurus Sun sign native. A very attractive cover hides the emotionally temperamental side of your nature. There is a very "definite" quality about you that insists black is black and white is white, and the many shades of gray don't exist. You have a very strong and passionate nature that knows what it wants and how to get it. You are very headstrong, self-willed, and independent. Your charm is instantaneous, and this coupled with your dramatic flare, shows talent for acting and speaking. You like being noticed and there is nothing at all timid about you. You are very appealing to the opposite sex, but the temperament you release when your reserve breaks down can make personal relationships very stormy. With all the tools that you have to get ahead, it wouldn't be hard for you to go far. Strangely however, your ambition to do so may not be as strong as many of your competitor who you pass along the way may believe. The tension that seems always to be building up constantly produces the urge to get away from it all and let yourself completely relax. You need this reprieve to avoid the stress to which you are rather susceptible.
