Hysterectomies can't be reversed, I mean come on they're removing your uterus and sometimes the ovaries. However, you can reverse having your tubes tied, which is what I think you mean. Good luck!

Did you have a hysterectomy, or a tubal ligation?

The reason I ask is a hysterectomy involves removal of the uterus, so it is not reversible. The uterus is gone.

If you just had a tubal ligation, meaning your fallopian tubes were cut, you can probably have a successful reversal. You'd have to see a doctor about it to find out for sure. I know that a lot of it depends on the manner in which they were cut, and the method of the original surgery, and how long ago it was done.

They can do really amazing things with reversals of both vasectomies and ligations now, so I would bet your chances are pretty good. However, I am neither a doctor, nor do I play one on TV, so you need to check with a doctor, and I would say the sooner the better. I know several people who have had reversals, and for most of them, it took a good amount of time for them to heal and for everything to get back to normal. If you are wanting to have a baby as soon as possible, get with a doctor as soon as possible, and talk with him or her about a reversal. I would imagine the surgeon who did the original procedure would be a great place to start, as he or she will know exactly which method of ligation they used, and can advise you of the chances of success.

Congratulations on your recent marriage, and I wish you the best, and a future full of baby bottles and dirty diapers :)

Hysterectomies are the permanent removal of the uterus. You probably had a tubal ligation. Some are reversible. It depends if they were tied or if the ends were burned. Talk to the doctor that performed the surgery.Good luck and congratulations on your marriage.

That is tubal ligation--also known as getting your tubes tied. It is generally reversible.

A hysterectomy, on the other hand, is the removal of the uterus. This is not reversible.

Talk to the doctor who tied your tubes and ask if your case is reversible.

From what I read I would say a hysterectomy is irreversible.Because in a hysterectomy an organ or organs are removed.if you only had your tubes cut I don't think I would term it a hysterectomy.Check back with your Gynecologist to find out for sure.

That's a tubal ligation, not a hysterectomy. In many cases, the ligation is reversible. The hysterectomy is the removal of your reproductive system.

Yes apparently they are but quite complicated, it is usally recommended that the man have a vasectomy as this is easier to reverse than a hysterectomy. good luck though.

HYSTERECTOMY is the removal of uterus. I don't think it is reversible when they already taken out your womb. They can not put it back (unless they preserved it ). I don't think there is artificial womb available and it will be so complicated.

my mom had her tubes cut and they said that it would cost a lot of money if she wanted to try to get pregnant so it is possible but you might have to dish out some dough.
