I'm trying to compare the schools of different countries to figure out why American students are more undisciplined. A typical school day in China is explained at the link

In my experience in a catholic school in Peru, south america, the time you have to be at school is 7:30AM, in the playground all the students stand every morning to pray, listen the priest words, every monday to sing the national anthem, if you are late you are castiged by the teachers, doing some difficult phisycal excersices, if you are not dressed correctly you are returned to home. Inside the classroom, if you haven't done the homework, the teacher can hit you with a piece of wood or pull your ear. It is really difficult, that is why the discipline is strong.
