1) Download a-squared for free at http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/. Update and run the scan, which does a very thorough check for all sorts of malware that could be slowing your system down.

2) Remove any programs that you no longer use and that are just taking up space. Do this in Add/Remove.

3) Go to Start, then Run, then type in msconfig. (I'm assuming you're using Windows.) Click on the Startup tab. Uncheck any programs that you don't want to have running in the background. Needlessly open programs can drain your system's resources.

4) If you're using Internet Explorer, go to Tools, Internet Options, then Advanced. Under Security, check Empty Temporary Internet Folder when browser is closed.

5) Do a Disk Cleanup periodically. To do this, go to Start, then Programs, then Accessories, then System Tools, then Disk Cleanup. Follow the directions that come up once Disk Cleanup opens. You can run this cleanup periodically, whenever you're slowing down.

6) Make sure that you update your antivirus and antimalware programs regularly.

Let me know if this stuff works. It should.

There are major causes of computer slow downs:

1. You put all your programs/application on your system drive (usually C: drive). This will cause windows to lag due to high disk usage.
Solution: uninstall softwares that you no longer need, or uninstal all software, then run disk defragmenter on drive C:.

2. You don't manage your partition, meaning you only have C: drive on your system (this happens on most branded PCs). All data goes into C: drive which degrade performance.
Solution: Prepare your drivers, or download the latest driver at the manufacturer's website, then repartition your Hard drive (this will destroy all data). I recommend 5 Gigs for C: drive, where you will put all your MAIN applications. anything other should go to D: drive.

3. Too many loaded softwares. this could be caused by unclean uninstall process or you installed too many applications on your system.
Solution: Try removing unnecessary start ups. Uninstall any software that you no longer need. this is basically cleaning your computer.

If you have the knowledge, try disassemble your computer and clean the insides too. Probably there's too much dust inside. Dust makes your components get hot quicker, and in most cases could cause short circuit, which could damage your PC.

i have never heard of Caspersky...use something like, Norton or McAfee or NOD32...aksi check your computer for adwares and spywares... u can use fostwares like Spybot and AdAware Personal Edition...both are free and recommended by microsoft...
U can scan ur computer and clean..
also check how many MB's u have free in ur C Drive.... if the C drive is too full it will slow down the computer... if u have installed a lot of softwares, and if u have a lot of stuff saved in ur computer it also maked the computer slow...
So deleting unwanted stuff would be a good first step...
(I am considering that ur using windows, and thatu have installed windows to the C Drive, as u have not mentioned anything about it... if u could give more details about ur computer, like the OS ur using..how many pertitions u have.. and the memory size and HDD size, it would be easier to help u)
regards!
