I don't plan on running the whole way, but am after some strategies to get to the end, especially Heartbreak Hill.

Please don't give me only weblinks....I would like advice. Thanks.

walk in shallow water, like a pool or at the beach. the increased resistance will build muscle mass in the vital areas, but it's low impact. The last thing you want is to get injured training for the big event by doing high impact sports like running, which jars the tendons and ligaments in the knees and hips, and the possibility of spraining an ankle.

Stay safe, train hard. No fear, no surrender!

Do some walking at a comfortable speed for a week and time yourself. Then increase the pace for another week and so on.
I dont think you should over train as on the big day your muscles and tendons may let you down.I
t would be a good idea to go to local gym and speak to someone there who is more knowledgeable than I.
Good luck on the day.
