Ok, I'm a gay teen, only 14, and I ask that you please, PLEASE don't be rude to me.

The bible condemms gays, and says they will be "put to death." Religion has never came in my way before of being gay but for some reason now I feel bad.

I have tried to be straight. I accept Jesus, I am a Christian, in fact a Catholic, and will I go to hell for being gay or will God forgive me? I have tried not to be gay but it's not something you choose. If you're gay or lesbian or bi you would understand.

So please help, and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE no rude answers. please.

Hey. Thanks for the answers for those who didn't put it in Caps lock and were rude. anyways, that's true.. I bet God will accept because he realizes we can't choose. However, we can choose whether to act upon them. Idk.. I think the bible talks more about sodomy than being gay in general. However, the "Put to death" verse is scary.

If there actually was a god, I'm sure he wouldn't condemn you to eternal damnation for something you can't change.

Hi,
you know, that question has had me bewlidered for quite some time now. I did read, too that there are some pretty strong passages in the bible which suggest that being gay isn't really a good thing if you're planning a membership in paradise, but to my knowledge, all these passages are in the old testament (please correct me if I'm wrong here, anyone?). Anyway, if you are a Christian, the New Testament would naturally be the one that would mean more to you (I personally think why have a new one if everybody keeps banging on about the stuff in the old one, no offense I hope). So, I would say, unless you can find something where Jesus is personally quoted as saying hom0sexuality is wrong, I would just forget the issue, and be a happy, gay Christian.

It says in the bible that a woman is made for a man, and a man is made for a woman. So I can not say you wont go to heaven. It really depends on your faith. Here is a verse for you. Ephesians 2:8-9, For by grace you have been saved through faith. Not of yourself, it is a gift of God. Not of works lest anyone should boast. But I would never say that are going to hell. But I would ask for forgiveness of the sin of being gay. Because in the bible it is a sin. But that is what God sent Jesus to the earth for. To take the burden of our sins. God bless I hope you work through this problem.

If you really believe in Christianity, and accept the word of Jesus, then no, you would not. I am a non-believer, but if you actually read the bible, you would understand that God can be righteous and vengeful, but also kind and forgiving. It depends how you live your life, really. If you went around having casual sex with as many partners as you possibly could, you would probably go to Hell. If you have self-respect, and wait until you are responsible enough to engage in sexual intercourse with a loving and trustworthy partner, you would be just fine. The Bible says God created Man in his image, and you just happen to be born gay.

Catholicism is funny. Despite the current pope's disposition, there was a conference of bishops in the 90's. Read "Always Our Children". Within the Catholic faith, and following all of the "rules", simply having one orientation or another doesn't mean anything. You're supposed to remain single the rest of your life though; that's apparantly God's way of telling you you're called to be single (Funny, you'd think if he was calling you to be single, you wouldn't be drawn to ANYONE). It's my personal opinion that it's awfully arrogant of anyone to tell me what God is calling me to do, and it's even more arrogant to think that you fully understand God's plan. I believe I was made gay for a reason, and while I don't necessarily identify with Catholicism anymore, I do believe in doing something GOOD with my life. And I can pretty honestly say that society's reaction to the gay part of me has shaped my being.

Anyway, as christian faiths go, Catholicism isn't a particularly terrible one, but you might consider looking into Dignity. Some people are perfectly happy remaining single, good Catholics the rest of their lives. You're going to need to ask yourself why you are Catholic, instead of the myriad of other options out there, and you're going to need to decide for yourself what you believe about God. Best of luck.

The part of the Bible which condemns sex between men wasn't talking about gay love at all, but was talking about abusive sex. In the story of the city of Sodom, all of the men of the city attacked two angels who were disguised as travelers, and performed gang rape on them. That wasn't sex or love, it was violence. And God destroyed the city because these sinners disobeyed a law to be hospitable to strangers, not because of anything gay. The other major part of the Bible quoted is the purity codes found in Leviticus. Most of the rules in Leviticus have been abandoned today. The surround food, and clothing, and divorce, among other things. The man-on-man sex that they spoke of at that time had to do with two things. One is that it made man equal with women, and they believed that man was superior, having sex with one brought that into question. The other is that there was a tradition among some for older men to use young boys for sexual gratification. This was abuse, and not love. When Jesus came into our lives he told us that the law wasn't the law anymore. Everything is new now, and you are a new Creation. Love God, and love your neighbor as yourself. That is the law.

You are a child of God. He made you. And he made you Gay. So God loves you.

hell.sheal.hades is mans common death resting place. so when all of us die we we all go to the resting place hell. i take it your talking cor 6:9/10 i don't have my bible handy but the scripture that says men who lie with men for unnaturally purposes? i really wish i had my bible to check that Scripture. keep up the good work. we are imperfect and fall short. im pleased you want to do what is srcipturally right. i do know that the wages of sin is death. so anyone dead now has a Resurrection hope. i feel if you stay on track you will do fine. no, you wont go under the ground to be tortured. a loving god would not do that to anyone human.or he would not be a loving god. just as the sun shines on the good people everyday so it does with the bad. so something for you to think about and research. thank you.

Buddy Jesus loves you and only He can judge you. If it is in your nature to be homosexual then God can put an end to it. If He doesn't do that then maybe you should look for yourself why you feel so bad about your sexuality. Keep in mind that people can change, so maybe you need some time alone and give it a good time to understand why you feel so frustrated. The Bible can say many things, but God only accepts one word, love.

No you aren't going to Hell. Remember that the Bible was written by men and has been re-translated by yet more men for over 10 centuries. Do you remember Jesus ever preaching against homosexuality? If you can find one place where Jesus condemned gays, then you need to start re-evaluating your sexuality, but until then I doubt God has any problem with you as you are.

Case in point:
From when I was 8 until I was 14 I prayed for God to make me "normal". I asked Him to lead my life in the way that He saw fit, and if He wanted me to change to help me to change. At 14 I believed, through some bad circumstances, that God had turned away from me and that He had decided to condemn me to Hell because of being homosexual. In January of this year I re-affirmed my faith with the Lord due to a life changing event, I realized that He had never turned His back on me and that He loved me for Who I was, not What I am. He had answered my prayer so many years ago by not answering it. You see, God knew I was normal all along and God knew that I was living the way that He wanted me to. He didn't want to change me, because He loved me as I was. So always remember, God doesn't condemn, God loves.

I hope I have helped you, but if you ever need to talk with someone, I am available.

Sincerely,
Kevin M.

Listen, hon...if you're gay, you're gay. You can't help it--that's who you are. God knows you and God knows your heart better than anyone. If you have any questions regarding your spiritual well-being, the best thing you can do is ask Him. Everyone else will always put their own societal belifs into the mix. I personally don't think it's gonna send you to Hell in a handbasket, but then again, it's not my call. I agree with the comment above mine.

I'm not gay but your not old enough yet to really have experienced life. I guess I should not be saying that though since I'm only 20. But sooner or later you're really going to find a girl that you like (in that way). Just give it time. And your not going to hell either. If you really believe in God he'll make a way for you don't worry. So don't stress and everything will fall into place just pray about it. God bless you hope I helped... ^__^
