Scratching the edge of a wide thin aluminium lid hard on a very rough surface, produces a sound that is generally not tolerated by listeners around ! And for conductive hearing, try scratching finger nails on a rough surfaced wall, the 'hearing' is more pronounced through whole body more than or apart from little through ears, and very few can withstand the irritation ! Some actually visualise it instantly and show a repulsive expression when merely told/reminded of these two methods of scratching !

The most annoying thing to me is someone who bites their nails and spits it out.
2nd is some one chopping away at food or gum with their month open.
3rd thing is someone who always has a story likes yours or talks about their self all the time.
And thats about all.

When I am trying to sleep and I can hear any sort of ticking sound...it doesn't matter what is causing it but even the faintest ticking will keep me awake.

I'd say the mosquito. Um, also hearing annoying egocentric people talking, that makes me want to slap them . . . twice :)

The Chinese ladies that walk on ght treadmill at my gym everyday. They yack away in Chinese for 30 minutes....thank goodness for my Ipod.
