Some people are more closed-minded. Also, it would go against many folks' religious teachings to believe that other intelligent species exist in the universe... these are the same teachings that condemned Galileo for the belief that the Earth revoloves around the sun...

Accepting the idea that life probably exists elsewhere in the universe is not radical; its logical. However, accepting the idea that alien beings have visited earth is an entirely different matter; that's pretty illogical...and unlikely.
If an alien civilization could travel here, then one of three things would be true:
1. They would want us to know they existed.
2. They would not want us to know about them
3. Or, they wouldn't care either way.
In the first case, they could simply land a ship in the middle of the field during the Superbowl and we'd quickly know they existed.
In the the second case, the advanced technology necessary for interstellar travel would surely make it simple to evade our detection.
Lastly, if they didn't care whether we saw them or not, we'd see alien ships whizzing about all the time.
Its far more likely that they've never been here and never will.

Because whenever morons like u mention 'aliens', its those little greeen guys or those spiky gremlins, its never a simple single-cell microorganism or even something lower. There r extra terrestrials, but not those u see in tv. U & ur fellow Scientologists believe in little green guys who wanna take over the world by force

The ones who usually don't believe in the existence of aliens are the fundamentalists or anyone who's in deep loyalty to his/her religion. Because according to the bible, we are the chosen creatures of God. So, they don't see the point why would God create another form of life in another, more so distant, planet since we were already made in the image of God....

People may believe in aliens but they don't believe that they've actually visited this planet. I think this is what most people say when they say they don't believe in aliens.
I myself am a skeptic.

because some people need an answer right then and there. Religion does not provide proof exactly but it does provide an answer. I myself think its very short minded to think that if there was a god he would only create us and if there is not a god then how can we be it?
