Yeah I know whatcha mean, it's like ok I don't agree with everything Bush has done but my Agreements outweigh my Disagreements and I do like him inspite of some Disagreements.

In the olden days in America people respected their President even if he was of a different party.

Heck when JFK died Democrats and Republicans mourned his Death, even his former opponent Richard Nixon mourned.

Granted yeah this COuntry is not perfect im not even gonna say it is cause I know it's not.

One thing that really irks me is how many people so eager to blame the President don't even bother to think of placing blame on Congress or Governors of States or whatever.

I mean seriously the President cannot be expected to do every single thing.

Ya know what though I was reminded of how much some people want the President to do everything when I studied in Western Civilization class about the time the Nobles were ruling the people rather than the Kings since the Kings would rule just the Nobles and some people eventually demanded their Kings take full charge of everything.

Eventually in Spain under Ferdinand and Isabella they had a Royal Council created that would share power with the Monarchs, obviously the Poor could not be members but neither could the Rich, only those in the Middle Class could belong to the Royal Council (which held power over the Rich Nobles).

Oh my goodness though I do sometimes wonder if maybe we should have a King in this Country seeing how a lot of people expect the President to do everything including whatever is not even his responsibility.

I agree with you. I'm a big supporter of President Bush. He is a great man, and doing a great job with everything! Who cares if he's not as articulate as others, or an incredible speech-giver. That's not what being President is all about.

It seems the American way is just to point fingers, and try to blame someone for everything. The general public in America always think they can do it better than everyone else. If most of the people in America were President, we wouldn't be here anymore. The terrorists would have already blown us away and taken over.

Bush may be President but, he is certainly NOT my leader because I didn't vote for him as President. I honestly can't think of one single thing that he's done to actually improve life for Americans. His "war on terror" has made America global enemy #1. Where only a few thousand radical Muslims were our enemies before 9/11, hundreds of thousands if not millions of radical Muslims are our enemies today. Unless he manages to win his "war on terror" before his last term is over, I have no doubt that there will be more suicide attacks against us- possibly even worse than 9/11. If I were a radical Muslim, which I'm not, that's what I would be planning to do. I am a Libertarian and that is how I will be voting in 2008- again.

Our government should be under the microscope at all times, and with any indiscetion it should be highlighted and not tolerated.

Our government has more power than any small group of people have had in the history of the world. Such power corrupts and needs to be controlled in any way possible.

When the president uses power he shouldn't have to enact laws that shouldn't be enacted to do things he shouldn't be able to do, I cannot back him. And his mistakes began before the "War on Terror", so that's no excuse.

And, although I respect your opinion, you're probably right about having destroyed your reputation. LOL

I completely agree. I would like to know how many people who whine about loosing their civil liberties would rather have had more terrorists attacks or have the government using wire taps to track terrorism, would they rather the military be able to conduct a proper interrogation to get info out of militants who were arrested because of bombing Americans, or have another terrorist attack.

Please people realize that there are people out there who want to kill us simply because we are not islamic.

The War According to David Hackworth
The Retired Colonel calls Donald Rumsfeld an "Asshole" Whose Bad Planning Mired U.S. troops in an Ugly Guerrilla Conflict in Iraq. His Sources? Defiant Soldiers Sending Dispatches from the Front.

by Jonathan Franklin

Retired U.S. Army Col. David Hackworth is a cocky American military commander who for half a century was at the front lines of the Army's most important battles. Most recently, though, Hackworth has been at the front lines of a domestic war: the debate over U.S. military strategy in Iraq, and whether the Bush administration planned well enough to achieve a decisive military victory and keep the postwar peace.

Hackworth was everywhere on cable television during the first days of the war, when early military setbacks convinced him and other retired military leaders that the administration, whose backers sold the conflict as a "cakewalk," hadn't sent enough troops to quell Iraqi resistance. He wrote a widely quoted column headlined "Stuck in the Quicksand" in early April -- just as the tide seemed to turn and the pace of victory picked up again. Though he is a colonel by rank, Hackworth was counted among the so-called "television generals" the administration blasted after Baghdad fell, and many conservative admirers turned against him.

But now, with American soldiers still dying almost daily in Iraq, the tide of opinion may be turning again, in favor of Hackworth's argument that the administration was unprepared for what's turning out to be a long-term guerrilla resistance in Iraq. Today the primary front of Hackworth's war of opinion isn't cable television, but a pair of Web sites -- Soldiers for the Truth and his own site, Hackworth.com -- where he's campaigning to document the dire fate of U.S. troops in Iraq. The sites have quickly become a repository for the gripes and fears of America's beleaguered combat troops.

On a typical day Hackworth receives hundreds of e-mails, letters and faxes from American soldiers, complaining about everything from silk-weight underwear to the weapons they've been assigned. "Pistols suck," wrote one soldier. "Bring and use every weapon. Shotguns are great at close ranges." At a time when soldiers have been disciplined for griping to the media, Hackworth is providing a fascinating outlet for what they're really experiencing. Among the more evocative messages:

"Soldiers are living in the dirt, with no mail, no phone, no contact with home, and no break from the daily monotony at all. I practically got in a fist fight with this captain over letting my private send an e-mail over his office's internet. This clown spends his days sending flowers to his wife and surfing the net. ******* disgraceful and all too typical of today's Army."

"Soldiers get literally hundreds of flea or mosquito bites and they can't get cream or Benadryl to keep the damn things from itching ... .I am not talking about bringing in the steak and lobster every week. I am talking about basic health and safety issues that continue to be neglected by the Army."
