U can install sound card that will be there with ur motherboard cd.
Some sound drivers r already there in xp so sometimes we dont need to install it.But few motherboard confriguration s/w r not there in the xp by default.so u first install sound card driver from ur motherboard cd.

Hi Braich,

First chech your backpanel of the cabinet whether you have connected the pin matching with colour of the speaker and the panel.
Second if that is correct, next go to the control panel and click over the "Sounds and Multimedia" check out the default sound of the windows, then too it is not working.
Then it is sure that you have not installed the sound driver, take your motherboad C.D and install the Sound driver present in that or else you should get dowloaded from the internet.

I'm sure that this will help you............

Msake sure your speakers are connected, the volume is up, and that the sound is not muted (there are often multiple ways to mute the sound on a computer so you may have to hunt around a little).

If all that fails, right click on my computer > properties > hardware > device manager and make sure that your sound card/driver are working properly.

Most likely you have it muted or the master volume is set to super low.

you dont have your drivers installed for your sound card.

If you know which company's sound card you have then download its latest drivers from the respective website for Xp...

If you dont know which sound card you have....open the cabinet .... try to find the name written on the card where you attach you speakers i,e your sound card.....after you get the name of the manufacturer download its driver....

if you are unable to search the drivers, buzz me....
