You have to have the pay email account to enable those features. The free yahoo mail does not support pop or smtp, and you cannot re-route them to outlook. Pop and smtp are ways of redirecting emails to another server. Upgrading your account will allow you to, and it's very cheap.

POP mail on yahoo is free, well at least I am getting it free
If you go to yahoo's mail pages you will see a small link in the top right hand corner called options, go to that then go to POP mail forwarding the options are in there.
If you need help there is also a help file in there which has all the info you need, you might just want to print it out.
POP = Incoming mail server. (pop.mail.yahoo.com)
SMTP = Outgoing mail server.(smtp.mail.yahoo.com)
Good luck, and if you need any more help just call me with IM my nickname is jackocomp. I will give you a step by step help to set it up.

You can't, unless you pay Yahoo for an upgraded email acct. I tried to do this a few months ago. I couldn't figure it out, so I emailed Yahoo Customer Care (Customer Care my a**! they don't know what Customer Care is), and they told me that it's a service reserved for paid email clients.

Yes, but you need third party software:
http://www.ypopsemail.com/
You can also go and download Thunderbird, which is another email client, and there is an extension for Yahoo mail. I've used it and it works wonderfully. I should actually go and configure that right now... hmm...
