Ideally, you would like to answer this question by emphasizing your unique knowledge, skills, and prior experience that make you a very strong candidate for this position--in other words, you can "hit the ground running." You might also add that you are dependable, committed, a team player, or mention any other personality attributes that the position requires that you can truly (and demonstrably) bring to the table, e.g., an ability to close a sale or a genius for motivating others. Finally, if you can demonstrate your ability to learn quickly and contribute to the EMPLOYER'S BOTTOM LINE, mention that. Try to keep your response to three or four sentences, and remember, in an interview, mention only what you are bringing to the employer, not what you would like or what you want to get from the job. Always stress accomplishments, not just experience.

Finally, find out all you can about the employer beforehand. Visit the company's website or perhaps drop in and pick up some printed matter before you go meet with them. Use their own lingo in the interview. And make eye contact and be sincere. The interviewer's personal impression of the interviewee is a powerful contributor to his or her selection of a candidate.

When asked this question, be sincere, highlight your strong points and your work ethic. Mention your good interpersonal skills and your background. Maybe even add some points about your hobbies and your well-rounded personality. Kicker here is saying that you are a "team player willing to give your best to the company".

"This is a job where I think I can contribute all my skills." Then list the ones you think the interviewer wants to hear. Then, let him/her know that you pay attention: "I've noticed since I arrived how (courteous? efficient? professional? cheerful?) your people are. I have a strong feeling we share a desire to further these positive attributes. I'd like to contribute to your work here."
