They are supposed to of course, but we all know that doesn't mean that they always do.

You know I have often wondered the same thing. I know by law they should but I helped a friend clean hotel rooms for a day once and the pakistan people that owned it didn't want to change the comforters they just wanted the sheets changed so I know I will never stay there. It was a scottish inn.

No, unless it's a really classy joint.
I saw a report on this, where they went into hotels and tested the comforters. They found invisible stains of some pretty icky stuff.
I always remove the comforter when I stay in a hotel.

They are supposed to. But my ex-mother-in-law worked a place that didn't wash them every time. If I were you I'd stay in a fancy hotel, it may cost more but I'd rather have a clean comforter.

I saw a news special on this about a year ago. most of the time they do not. The investigation crew went in with one of those lights that detect body fluid......there was body fluid on the majority of the covers. So when you use a hotel/motel, either don't touch it, or ask for a clean one at the front desk.

No, I worked at a Holiday Inn and we only washed the comforter every now and then. The sheets however were washed every time.

Maybe the more expensive hotels, but at the cheaper ones-no, unless it's obviously dirty. So, if it bothers you then ask for a clean or new one, or bring a blanket or sleeping bag.
