Its not only white people that are worried about Muslim scarves. This question can be answered in a general way in that people are worried or scared of other people's way of life due to their own ignorance. The way the media sensationalizes and targets certain groups whether it be their religion, sexuality, occupation, etc., can cause others to view them in a negative light. Mind you in some cases, these groups do bring it upon themselves, but we should keep in mind that these bad apples are always a minority and not representative of the entire group. There's good in everyone and people should concentrate more on the positives than the negatives.
