Are you going to hyphen it or just use your name? I see nothing wrong with hyphened names..if it means that much to you. I can see the benefit in a professional career where you have been known professionally by your prior name. That's part of your reputation and recognition of who you are. I don't think it cold unless it's saying your name and family are more important and above the level of mine.

I plan on keeping my name if and when I ever get married, of course I have 3 kids and they all have my last name, other wise, I would probably consider taking his name.
I'm glad my little girl doesn't have her father's name lol, his is Beer, I would much rather be a green lol.

Nope. Your family name may very well have a proud heritage.
I would not expect my spouse to take my last name any more than she should expect me to take hers.
Marriage is a partnership not a dominance. If a spouse wants to take their partners last name by all means they are welcome to, but it is not something to be insisted on.

No, my mom kept her and im glad she did because if she didn't, i would've had my dad's and i don't like his last name. So, yeah, your kids might thank you for it.
