Don't try to manipulate your mom. She will know your intent and then she might not trust you in other things.

Tell her how you feel. The truth. Why do you want to use a tampon instead of a sanitary napkin? Remember always that your Mom loves you and wants the best for you. She is your best friend and she'll be in your corner for as long as she lives and beyond.

Just tell her and give her a good reason as to why you want to start using tampons. But it will have to be good and not the old "it makes me feel like I have a diaper on" because she will not believe you. I have worn pads ever since I started my period when I was 12 years old and I am now 42. Tampons are so risky and not healthy.

Okay, here's what you can do realistically.

Next time you're on your period get a group of friends together and plan a trip to the pool or lake or beach or whatever kind of swimming place you can go to. Then be like "mom i really want to go is there any way i can go when i have my period?" and shell be like "well you could use a tampon" and ask her if she could pick up a box of tampax for you. Ask her how to use it and all that stuff and then after the pool thing tell her that you like them a lot more and ask if you could start wearing tampons.

You are being passive about the subject. Until you become assertive, you will not be in control of your own destiny. Seek out assertiveness training classes, or read a book or 2 on the subject. Once you start to speak up, you will be amazed, your whole life will change. There will be a side effect though, you will lose the friends who take advantage of you all the time, because you will start standing up for yourself. Who needs them anyways.

Mom, I prefer to use Tampons because I feel more comfortable in them then pads. Pads make me feel weird and uncomfortable, and they make me feel that I am going to leak through. So I want to switch to Tampons.
