Attend a meeting of a group of people who differ from you in some definable way. For example, if you are white, you might attend services at a black church; if you are heterosexual, you might attend a meeting of gay and lesbian students; if you are European American, you might attend a meeting of Native Americans, Asian Americans or another cultural group.

5) Describe how it felt to be a minority in the group that you visited.

Sounds like a hefty sociological studies project the teacher handed you. Take this project on and be sure to heighten your observational powers without causing attention to yourself. Try using a tri-pod attached video cam during such events and film the participants and a friend you have during such meetings.

Better yet, interview the friend and a few of the "majority" participants. Look for BOTH differences and parallel areas of opinions.

Using such "controls" in this sociological project may yield some very interesting findings in the areas of cultural diversity and social acceptance. Good luck.

Although I've attended many meetings, churches, synagogues and bars where the majority of people were from a different ethnic group than me, I have no interest in writing your paper for you!
