I have noticed recently that many items on many ballots pass somehow despite OVERWHELMING numbers of voters being opposed to the bills. I am now suspicious that every election and every bill is predetermined by the powers that be and we no longer live in a democratic society.

Obviously OVERWHELMING numbers are not against the measures that ended up passing. Perhaps the minority was the most vocal, or perhaps the opposition simply did a better job of turning out the vote. Either way, the vote went the way it did because that's how the people voted. Voting and recounts are overseen by so many different people and agencies that the likelihood of predetermining an election is slim to none.

There's always going to be corruption that effects or changes what someone actually voted for being accidental or otherwise but I don't believe it's controlled by the Illuminati or something like that although there is alot of evidence for various conspiracies etc.

Perhaps it is showing the inaccuracy of our media's polling or the small sphere of influence people are exposed to as Dan Rather said when Ronald Reagan won in 1980 "I don't know anyone who voted for him."

Nope it doesn't. For the presidential votes, for example, all of the citizen's of a state vote and then everyone's vote goes to the state reps. Then they are suppose to cast their vote based on what the particular group they got of the state voted, but they are allowed to vote otherwise. It's crap.
