I wish to buy a nail gun to shoot nails into hard material. Anyone into construction? What is the difference between an air pressure nail gun and electric nail gun. Of course, the air pressure nail gun requires an air compressor and an electric nail gun is a lot cheaper. Is it the same power?

No, depending on what your nailing into determines what gun you will need. If your nailing into studs or hard woods you will need an air gun. Keep in mind though these guns are purchased to speed up the building process. If this is a home project with no real dead line. I wouldn't invest the money in purchasing one and would just use a hammer or rent the equipment. As for a electric nail gun they don't have enough pressure unless your just tacking something or working with a lite wood. Good luck and I hope it works out for you.

I bought an electric gun to put up molding around my living room. Bought a craftsman from Sears thinking it would be a good one. It lasted about 6 hours then nada. Took it back to Sears but they were out so I went to Lowe's and picked up there store brand. It lasted about 2 hours. I gave up after the second one. I find the electric guns are good for small jobs that take less that 15 minutes. For larger jobs I would definitely recommend the pneumatic.

air nailer is VERY adjustable for the pressure applied for the required shot, generally electric nailers have few settings... go with the air... lasts longer too
