there is a measure called "oscar" which is generally accepted all over. any jewellery or a manufacturer use this measure for getting the right ring size. for an average woman it is oscar 6-7 and for a man its oscar 8-9. so, if you wish to establish your size, you should just approach any jeweller in your area. all the best!!

Yes it is an old wives tale but I've yet to find this where it isn't at least very close. FOR WOMEN, your ring size is the same as your mens shoe size or your shoe size minus 2. For example if your shoe size is an 8 1/2 then your ring size would be a 6 1/2. It's at least a place to start guessing.

Usually in any store selling jewlery all of the rings will be marked with sizes. If the rings are not attached to a big paper back with brand, price, etc... then you may try it on in the store. Otherwise I would go up to the jewlery counter where a salesperson can help you. Once you know your size it's easy because the sizes are generally consistent.

just take a thread and round it on the finger where you want to use your ring and cut the thread where it ends. you may ask your jeweller the measurement of the ring size, they'll be able to give you the correct answer.

If you go to a jewelry store, they will tell you your size. I'm sure if you googled for "ring size" or something you could find a printible measuring tape type thing to use.
