Puppys and young dogs particularly like to chew on leather furniture. They will chew it up like a leather chew toy and swallow the pieces. Claw marks from both cats and dogs are also a problems. Best advice is to keep your pets away from leather furniture.

Good luck with your problem.

Our cat does not claw the furniture, but in its rowdy times it jumps on and over the leather recliner. The chair now has little scratches from her claws.

It wasn't animal friendly to the cow that gave its life!

In regards to cats and dogs, both can seriously damage leather. I wouldn't have one unless my cats were declawed.

Also, a sturdier leather will hold up better against heavy use.
