When I was in high school, the media and certain foreign countries despised Ronald Reagan with the same venom that I see spewed towards George Bush Jr.

Back then, we lived with the very real threat of a hostile USSR with thousands of nuclear weapons and a policy of Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD).

The USA was resolute and the bad guys backed down and eventually bought into the system. We are even kind of friendly with the Russians now.

Many people who hated violence and war thought US "belligerence" was going to kill everyone.

They were wrong then as now.

The US feeds the hungry, cures diseases, advances freedom and technology...sometimes to excess, but mostly with better intentions than the naked greed and ignorance of lesser countries.

Nobody is perfect, but I am very glad that the Superpower on Earth is the USA and not anyone else.

I know I would not trust my own country with that responsibility.

I am Canadian

That is a hard question to answer because I like living in the united states but in the same breath there are things in the government and law I don't agree with. We are truly not as free as you think and I believe there needs to be things here in the united states that need to be addressed and our government to help there people before they can go and help others. i feel its a double standered and makes them look terrible. I guess I have had bigger questions about our country sine the war in Iraq and Katrina. There are things I am still trying to process and understand about us as a country.

I love this nation. It is the greatest civilization in the history of civilization. Its founding creeds and most basic values are unlike those of any other civilization that has ever existed, and, most likely, ever will, more's the pity. Even though it is on the decline, mostly due to self-absorbed, apathetic, miscreants like you, Midget, er, Gigglet, no, Piglet, uh, whatever the hell your name is. When it comes right down to it, All once-great civilizations that are no longer with us committed suicide, and people like you are the only reason people like the terrorists can ever do any lasting damage.

Go shake hands with Davy Jones.

Land of stability, financial and educational growth. Well there are millions of people who migrate to the U.S. without fame and money in their home country. *(Example0 In the U.S. even janitors and security guards are paid a good sum in our country they are not respected and their income would not be enough to secure their future.

In the U.S.A. if your good you excell your future is patterned in good life. Whereas there are those country that no matter how you tried and double your work. You will stay hand to mouth.

This is my opinion.

Hate it. Our hypocritical government takes away our freedom, peace by peace, and still insists that this is a democracy. WE NEED AN ANARCHY!

I love living in good ol' U-S-of-A. I've been to other countries and seen other things and we've got it really good here.
