I've noticed how some of the Italian morons here have come rushing to defend that worthless piece of crap, Materazzi, simply because of his race. The fact of the matter is, this isn't about siding with your race, but rather standing together to speak out against racism, the real issue involved in this situation. What Materazzi did was absolutely disgusting. He basically called Zidane the Italian equivalent of a "*****r," and if that wasn't enough, Materazzi went on to say that he (Zidane) was the "son of a terrorist whore" making reference to his Algerian Muslim parents. All of this has been kept quiet for the most part at this time with the exception of a few web sites on the net such as the one for which I've provided the link below. And now that lying piece of genetic garbage claims that he has no idea what a terrorist is, or that he made no such racial comments?! That stupid terd must think everyone else in the world is as stupid as he is. He is not only a bad representation of Italians, as well as soccer players, but for the entire human race in general. And let me make this clear to those who would defend him (Italian or otherwise)... analyze the situation logically and add up the facts from the evidence being presented instead of calling it "pathetic" (ahem Twigglet you biased little *****). There should never be any room for bias when combatting racism and grilling racists. These bastards need to be taught that it is not okay to carry on with such mannerisms!
By the way, I do agree with the fact that Materazzi is "not cultured." He is a stupid ignorant racist that easily falls prey to hateful political propoganda. If I'm not mistaken, the Italian government is actually in full support of this racist war in Iraq, and an Italian politician even wore a t-shirt imprinted with the hateful racist cartoons of the Muslim prophet Mohammed earlier this year at the winter Olympics, of all things. I can't beleive how racist of a society these Italians are. It's really ironic too, since here in the United States it is they who are commonly recognized as the scum of the earth by uncultured American racists known as rednecks.
I was an athlete myself at the high school and college level and I know all about trash-talking to get into the heads of your opponents, but Materazzi clearly crossed over that line in a major way by saying what he did to Zidane. For those of you who talk about restraint, I think Zidane DID show a great deal of restraint by not beating that punk Materazzi half to death right there on the spot. Here in the United States, we've had an ugly history regarding racism in the past, but you'll absolutely never hear an athelete in any one of our major sports making such comments to another player these days. Materazzi is pure scum. He is the perfect example of what is plaguing international soccer today: racism. Idiots like him do not belong on the field. FIFA ought to ban him after they've completed their investigations.
As for Zidane, he only reacted as anyone would do when they, their family, and their race was SERIOUSLY insulted by an as*hole like Materazzi. Actually, when you think about it, Zidane's response was very measured. It's not like he punched out Materazzi or bashed his head in with a baseball bat, which is what I'd be tempted to do if I was the target fo such horrific racial slurs. I'm sure he's very upset at both what Materazi said to him, and on how he reacted to it in the heat of the moment. However, a part of me is actually glad that Zidane did lash out a little instead of just standing there and taking it all in. Now racism in soccer and dumbfu*k sh!theads like Materazzi will be exposed for the evil they personify, and the problem can be given the appropriate attention that it deserves.

I would believe Sicilian born Materazzi. Why would Materazzi say that anyhow? why would Zidane be offended by that he's French and how would he know Zidane was Muslim? Its not like he wears a big flag announcing his religious beliefs across his chest..
I realize its easy to make Materazzi the big villain here but what if he isn't. I read some silly thing where some BBC person who was deaf tried to figure out what he said by reading his lips (and his is a far away shot, not up close) and then some other person who spoke Italian tried to figured out what she was saying... Gawd how pathetic...
Zidane is suppose to talk about the incident this week.... I don't know if he has yet.... but if he hasn't how about everyone not accusing Materazzi of stuff he may or may not have done. Speculation is not proof. Get off his *** already...
Plus I wasn't aware Zidane spoke Italian...

No Zidane is an idiot, and he is keeping quiet to make people think that it was a racial slur and it wasnt. And I am sure he is embarrassed. Wait a minute no he is not. This is not his first incident, he always does this.
However I do agree with you saying "I dont know what a terrorist is" is plain stupid. If that is what he said, because there is a lot of speculation on everything. And if I were you, having lived in Europe almost all my life except a 2 year stint, I would not believe the football media in Europe. There is a lot of stuff written for simply selling newspapers or media programs like TV shows.

in the end, it doesn't really matter what Materazzi said. and the report of what he said in English might not reflect what he actually meant to say.
the point is, in Zidane's entire career, you'd think that he would have learned how to handle verbal abuse by now. you would at least think he would be smart enough to use his head to think instead of hit someone. it was the world cup final, his team was tied, the end of the game was near, and Italy had not been legitimately scored on throughout the whole tournament (an own goal and pk doesn't count when referring to their defense)... the France team needed him. what he did was stupid and selfish.
for a man to end his glorious career that way.... disgraceful.
so, "Is Materazzi really plain stupid or is he a MF lyer?". who cares? when sports history is written, how many people are going to care what Materazzi said? by the way, he doesn't represent the intellect of soccer players so i don't see how his comments are remotely close to being "humiliating for soccer players!"

We're you there? Did you hear what went on? The answer is NO, so you are just one more ignorant person on this earth!!!!! What was said is only known by Zidane and Materazzi. In saying that regardless of what was said, Zidane was absolutely WRONG in losing his composure as a capatin of the World Cup Finals.
Therefore the only stupid person here is you!!!!

According to my expert opinion, Materazzi and other Italian players are ************ lier. Materazzi is an idiot, and I do believe that he can't event read. But I am truly confident that even an idiot like Materazzi knows the meaning of his own bloody words. I know that Zidane is not a robot, He is human like all of us, have a feeling, angry, sad, and other humanist behaviors. So the correct answer for your question is, "MATERAZZI IS AN IDIOT AND HE IS ALSO A MOTHERF.U.CK.ER LIER, AS MANY OTHERS ITALIAN BASTARDS. ALL THAT MAFIOSO CAN DO IS SIMPLY ARRANGING THE SCORES OF THEIROWN LEAGUE". For LES BLUES... I hope to see you in the European Final Cup and the 2010 World Cup Final.

I bet he just pretends to be stupid...I mean he can't be that stupid. I don't know what he said to Zizou, but I bet it was something very bad. Why doesn't Materazzi say everything? He is lying, to pretend that he is innocent. Anyway, if he really doesn't know what an Islamic terrorist is, than he is for sure the most idiot player ever!

He never called Zidane a terrorist, even Zidane recently said so. Maybe he doesn't know what being islamic has anything to do with being a terrorist. Or maybe he isnt well educated but he can play soccer and thats what matters
