I'm looking for a non-drug type of help to stop the tight muscle pain from restless leg syndrom. Currently, the doctors here only give narcotics to help with the symptoms.

I got that because my back was misaligned and the nerves to my legs were not working properly. In my case vitamin E always worked. Then I went to a chiropractor and the problem vanished forever. I'm not so sure these two solutions work for every cause of restless legs.

Interesting thing I noticed the other day is that nobody knew Restless Leg Syndrome was an actual affliction until some drug company came up with the name and started running ads all over the television for it. I mean come on, restless leg syndrome? They are just making things up now to sell new medicine and now alternative medicine is going to start seeing benefits from it too.

You should check this Sciatica Natural Treatment
http://cure-sciatica.info

Normally, I would not answer a question like this as my expertise is generally in medication but I had severe sciatica while I was pregnant with my 3rd child (after having had twins) and I had sciatica so bad that I was finding it difficult to walk. I tried massage therapy and physical therapy and could not take medication
I went to the chiropractor and the pain was instantly relieved. My hips and lower back were out of alignment because I had carried twins the year before. On occasion a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) can also work but they usually only work on one joint at a time - the chiropractor will do your whole back which works faster. Anyone who does not believe in chiropractors will tell you they are quacks - don't listen.
I don't necessarily believe that chiropractors can cure things like diabetes but they can definitely relieve some types of back pain especially if a pinched nerve is involved which is usually the cause of sciatica. Try a reputable chiropractor ASAP!

Calcium and magnesium taken before bed. Helps you rest better too. I also have restless leg synd.
Every cell in your body requires magnesium to live and prosper...especially muscles. It loosens them and makes "plyable"...more movable. My muscles in my back tighten up till my disks "freeze" in place and I can't turn my neck...chiropractor clued me into magnesium and it has proven effective. Reduces muscle tightness and pain that goes w/;it.

...this works really well. If it causes loose stools, then reduce amt.taken...it is a natural side affect and your bodies way of getting rid of excess.

I suggest you see a neurologist. Treat the source, not the symptom. Some people have had relief taking St. John's Wort.
