me and my husband are trying to have a baby..is there any special sexual positions or things to do during or after sex to help it along?

Pregnancy is a matter of chance. It does not always happen even if the egg and sperm are in the right place at the right time,

Apart from positions, you should also consider the following to work out your ‘fertile’ period.

Maximise your Chances

1. Temperature - Keep a record on your body temperature for a month and have more sex before the day when your temperature rises. (during ovulution time, the body temperature increases)

2. Cervical Mucus - As ovulation approaches, the mucus thins and becomes clear. This allows easy passage of sperm through the cervix. After ovulation, the mucus becomes thick again. By observing your mucus pattern you will be able to determine when the mucus is thin and time intercourse accordingly.

3. More Sex - According to experts, one of the most common causes of infertility is infrequent sex at the appropriate time of the cycle. Put your fears to rest - your partner will not ‘run out’ of sperm. Sperm counts are slightly lower if a man engages in frequent sex, but since each ejaculation contains millions of sperm this will not affect his chances at impregnation.

Don't let him take hot showers beforehand; they kill sperm.

Do it while you're ovulating and with your feet in the air and a pillow under your hips, positioned so that your cervix will be at the bottom of natural gravity. Stay that way for five minutes or so afterwards.

Also, it's not an old wife's tale, oysters really do raise a man's sperm count and coffee really does make 'em swim faster!

My stock answer to this question is: ORGASM!. This will actually cause the discharge in your vagina to become really sperm friendly, it will move the cervix lower, and slightly dilate it, making your eggs more accessible to his swimmers! See, God really does know what he's doing! My OB/GYN told me this when i tried to conceive for the third time.the first two times, I took more than a year and a half. with the third time, I conceived the first month! That's science for you!

i agree with amber. everything ive read and experienced proves her to be correct. but besides all of that. also remain as unstressed as possible. i know this is easier said than done. but when it comes time for baby making, try to really just let go of your troubles, enjoy the intimate time with your partner, and forget the rest of the world. stressing out about trying to get pregnant will NOT help you get what you want.
you may also want to use ovulation predictors. they dont hurt to try. good luck!

be on bottem and have a pillow under ur butt. u need to orgasm as he does so that u will push he stuff in ur tummy. tell him to go deep inside u when he c.u.m.s. and then make shure he keeps his thingy inside u for a lil wile. and lay around for a wile after that so that the seeds dont run out of the field. oh yah and make shure he doesnt use a condom hehe good luck gurl.

Missionary and lay in bed with your legs elevated for an hour or so after he is finished. Also, do it when you are fertile (about 1 - 1 1/2 weeks after you finish your period).

I read somewhere that the best is animal position - that is how dogs, cats and so many other animals do it. the sperm in this case comes exactly to the cervix.
