I saw it in a theatre. I think I was the only male in the audience.I have to admit I felt a little uncomfortable. The scene in the tent got pretty graphic and it did make me uneasy. It was certainly some powerful performances all around, but the story line did not ring true to me. I can't see two men from any generation carrying the absurdity of their denial to those extremes. But it certainly was recieved well. I thought it was a good film all in all. My brother liked it, his wife really liked it. My neice and her life partner really liked it. The women at the theatre I was at really liked it. I could tell when they were looking in to my eyes, when the house lights came up. they seemed to have kitten eating grins on their faces and that made me even more uneasy. That is until I I started to laugh out loud thinking these women probably thought we had a shared quiet secret. I do believe it was an important door to open in film making. There are a lot of stories out there and they need to be told fairly and openly.
I am curious. as to what motivated you to ask. Any way we have a video store in Simi Valley. I t was recieved well by females and most of the males that saw it was at their wives bequest. Probably an overdose of homophobia there some where but who knows. I did not think it was all that. I thought TransAmerica was all that. I cared about the characters because they were human not contrived. I rooted for Felicity Huffman for best actress. She nailed that part dead on. I can't believe people are so threatened by subject matter to the point they wont recognise great work when they see it.

I'm female, I rented the movie and as I was taking it off the shelf some woman came up to me and said "you know that's gay right?" and I was like "do you mean literally or do you mean it sucks, because I've heard both" so I thought that was weird. The movie was good, it wasn't the greatest thing. I must admit the sex scenes kind of scared me (between the two men and the men and their women) just because it seemed so violent. I really liked the characters Heath Ledger played (though I could hardly understand what he was saying) and Michelle Williams...very emotional.

once you're going to stay with such reductive reasoning to the plot of a movie you've by no skill considered, then why not supply up on seeing all video clips, considering they sound both simplistic even as to that end anticipated? Why may all and distinctive favor to work out Brokeback Mountain? that is in conserving with a novella by skill of a sturdy author, adapted by skill of sturdy screenwriters, made by skill of a sturdy director and starring a experienced solid. It replaced into nominated for most awards and praised by skill of critics. And it really is a touching tale about repressed denied love that spans many years, that is about the dwindled life style of the agricultural west, it has captivating scenerey, large performances and a good soundtrack. particular, particular, that isn't any "Son of the mask" - yet there are a large style of motives to favor to work out it, and why closed-minded homophobic kinds with a rudimentary draw close of spelling ought to work out it.

I am female. i loved the movie I cried so many times and yelled at the television. I watched it the first time rented, I went out and bought it to keep the next day. I guess I should tell you I am completely strait but I have lots of gay guy and gay girlfriends. I don't think that stuff like that is how god wants it but I figure if they are happy I am happy, the government even pisses me off how they won't give them rights.

i am female. i couldn't wait to see the movie. and was so disappointed when i finally did. i rented it. it was sooooo boring. for being something that was supposed to be cutting edge... it sure kept me on the edge of my seat....because i was about to fall off after having fallen asleep. BORING!!!! it never solved anything. couldn't understand what they were saying half the time, finally had to put my closed caption on to read the words cause they sure couldn't talk... and it lasted 20 some years throughout the movie and felt that long in watching it.
It was a total waste of my time. and what's really bad... it really could have been a good and meaningful movie had it been made better and at a faster pace.

I'm a fifteen-year-old straight male, who has absolutely no homophobic thoughts of tendencies.

I personally loved the film, and would rank it as my fifth favorite film released in the United States in 2005 (behind Cache, 2046, Saraband and A History of Violence, and just ahead of Last Days). It was a very touching and profound psychological drama, featuring many beautifully nuanced performances.

I saw the movie on DVD, I am female and I thought the movie was okay...not worth all the hype. Not sure I want to see two guys kissing or one guy spitting in his palm to...well, you know...
I think they could have left off some of the physical stuff and the noises. I appreciated the storyline and the location were fantastic. Storyline was okay...just couldn't get passed the physical stuff between two men. Just don't want to see that...or two women for that matter...LOL

I am a female and it was a great picture, but I laughed because so many men did not know what this was about and left. They were really, really, irate. This was an emotional roller coaster that evoked gut wrenching feelings about love, commitment and dedication. It showed the many sides of gray with regards to issues that we have all thought were as clear as black and white.
