They have nuclear weapons, and so does Pakistan. They sit right next to each other but they hate each other... a bad situation all around.

1.Corruption....But this also because of us since we r the ones who take the shortest route possible to get our things done.If all of us refuse to grease the palms of politicians and bureaucrats, the problem will be solved.
2.Communalism..We have totally forgotten as to what our old scriptures taught us in terms of respecting fellow human beings.
3.Hero worship..We dont just watch movies for entertainment but we bestow larger than life image on the hero(or heroine).We tend to feel that they are Demi-Gods(or Gods themselves) ..This applies to how we treat our politicians as well..
4.Lack of Discipline..How many of us follow traffic rules ?Do we follow the signals??To us only WE (self and the family) r important and there is no space(literally and metaphorically) for others..
If these things are taken care of, India will become a Global power and a country worth emulating..

THe major problem which hampers the economy is the lack of good infrastructure (which is improving with the golden quadrilateral)
The major problem with the govt is that there is a lot of corruption.
THe major problem with the living is that many people have AIDS.
India is still a great country nonetheless.

the important disadvantage is that once in india will change into totally developed us of a, then significance would accept to public and private sectors, a lot less significance to secondry sectors like farming,fishing,cottage industries etc.

Over populated, poverty and hunger... lack of sanitation and "personal cleanliness".
But it has its really good parts too. Great food, awesome jewelry, Bollywood and Cricket!
