why do you watch that show? that is the stupidest show ever and has no point

Because Jimmy deveolped a connection with Ellie over art--something that he didn't have with Hazel. Ellie understood Jimmy and helped him find a part of himself he never knew he had. Hazel realized that Jimmy liked Ellie more than her and broke up with him.

They broke up because Jimmy liked Elli.
