Sadly greed and power seem to make the world go round. Without that we likely would have no wars but oh well. Those in power try to get the money and the money buys more power. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

Because we live in a capitalist society.

The stockholders are supposed to control the board and the board controls the employees. The stockholders want a financial return on their investment. If the board and the employees don't deliver, they are out of a job.

well if we are not going to look out for our own best interests,no one else will,and that is just a bs answer, lighten up, your perspective is a little skewed toward the negative side, there is just as much good and selflessness in this world as there is bad, it just doesnt get as much press, but if you look for it you will find it
