What you are probably having is Braxton/Hicks contractions this is the body's way of getting you ready for labor. This is perfectly normal but if they get really painful or at regular intervals call your Dr. When I had my boys I made sure to make some time every day to just rest with my fee up, this really helps with the swollen feet and ankles. If you have questions for your Dr. make sure you get the answers you need even if you have to press him/her that is what you are paying him/her for. Good Luck and congratulations on your new little one.

It sounds like Braxton Hicks contractions. While not always common in first pregnancies, second or third pregnancies almost always have these. It is basically your body's way of preparing for the big day, and they are nothing to worry about. Of course if you have bleeding or if your water breaks when you are having these contractions. Get to the hospital immediately. Congratulations. Good Luck.

You are prob having braxton hicks contractions and it is very normal. It is how your body prepares for the real birth. It could also be just growing pains. If you can do something to make them go away then it is not the real thing. Take a bath, nap, for walk and if does not go away go to the doc. It is prob not premature labor. Good Luck!!

Rest, keep your feet up, just kinda take a big break on everything. I am sure things will be fine but the more you stress yourself , the bigger problems you can have. This is the best time of pregnancy cause you get to do nothing and have a reason for it, enjoy it now cause once the baby gets here it is all over....lol....If you feel presure or they come like 5 minutes apart for over an hour that is the time to get to the hospital.....
Good luck and congrats!

Girl, go get a second opinion from another OB -- a DOCTOR, not Yahoo Answers. Take care of yourself, mama, someone is counting on you.

Everyone told you the "big term", it means "false labor". As some of the answers tell you, watch if you have a pattern, and go get checked. The way to look at this is: if you have any concerns at all, go to the hospital and get yourself checked and set your mind at rest. Nothing is worth (even slightly) endangering you or your newborn, so get checked, get the answers from your doctor, and do not be afraid to go everyday if you are worried.

It is probably just braxton-hicks contractions. your uterus is practising for the big day. And regular is more like a few times an hour, not a few times a day

Braxton hicks - which is normal.
If the contractions escalate to more than 4 an hour, and you see a distinct pattern to them, call your doc immediately.

I had contractions from 16 weeks till term with my two younger ones. I wouldn't be too worried unless they get to be regular and progressively harder.
Best wishes!
