Why do we sometimes, expect for others to do what we should do, to help others, why does it takes so much for us to stand up and do something for ourselves and in benefit of others?

Unfortunately, people get tired of helping others because when they do then they get in trouble for helping them. I know this has always been true in my case. I help someone or stand up for a belief that I know is ethically right and I get smacked down. I lost 2 jobs for being ethical. I have been treated badly for helping where I was told I shouldn't. So, I quit being a reporter. I stopped teaching Journalism and now I am just doing the Photography thing. A picture is worth a thousand words and is more objective than my voice or my helping hand.

It is not always another person's job to help other people, unless they ask for help or unless it is obvious they need it.
I guess certain people think they can save the day if they help everyone they run into that looks like they need it. These people might have a complex and do not feel good about themselves, so by helping people, it helps them as well. I personally like to help other people if they say they need it. I won't barge in.

Perhaps it is someone else's job. We are all put on earth for a reason a maybe that's not theirs. If you are talking about simple good deeds I'd say that we need to make it a point to do a least one a day. Please don't pass judgement on others and use your own convictions to help others.
