As a Yankee fan, it hurts me to say this but Ortiz is the MVP hands down. I can't believe he is hitting just .272. He gets a big hit EVERY time Boston wins. The Yankees are banged up, but still a decent team, and if not for Ortiz, Boston would probably be in third place.

As for the N.L, I have to go with Pujols. His numbers are amazing, considering he missed three weeks. He came back from the D.L. and picked up right where he started.

Albert Pujol of the Cardinals in the National League
Jim Thome of the Chicago Whitesox in the American League

I have to say Roy Halladay.

Most wins in majors, top 3 in most major categories. He has carried the Jays to where they are right now, and still fails to get enough recognition.

If I had to pick a player, it would be Albert Pujols.

David Wright no doubt about it in my book, started strong, slumped a little, but boy did he come back unstoppable. He's been the total package this year. I believe he would be the deserving one. You did throw out alot of good names though!
