in my state min wage is 5.15, thats what i am getting and i am not allowed to work 40 hours a week, it should be at the very least $8.50 a hour, with gas so high and every thing else going up, most of the time my family has to pay bills or put food on the table. we have 3 pay checks coming in and we still dont have enough money to live.

No, I don't think so. In California I was a small business owner and if wages had been $5.00 an hour I could have afforded to hire some one full time. An owner must pay and match all the taxes that are taken out of a check. This is why it costs so mush to live as the worker thinks they are worth a lot more than what they are paid.
Well, I did hire at Christmas and it took over 1/2 of my profit to have them there and they didn't want to do the work. Now I pay 50% commission and hire only independents and if they don't want to do the work than that is fine I just reduce their commission. That gets them hoping.

No. And the reason is simple. If the mom and pop stores up the minimum wage for people then they will increase their prices to cover the loss.
People who have worked hard and gotten themselves into a higher pay bracket get screwed beacuse the prices go up and our wages don't.
I get a paycut every time minimum wage goes up.

Hell YES!!! They are raising everything else, but not minimum wage, its wrong. They are forcing so many Americans into poverty its scary. It should atleast be $7 an hour.
