This isn't the first incident taking place in India, anyway.
Last year, the financial giant Citibank also had similar incident.

I hate ringing HSBC now. I can't understand what they are saying and they have no 'local' knowledge.

I once asked to be put straight through to my Branch knowing that the answer to my question wasn't going to be on their computer. It took 9 minutes to accept that they couldnt help. They also asked me for my passwords etc. What just to connect a call? No way. BT don't ask for a password to put a call through.

Better still is when they ring you back and ask you for your password. Erm no. You just rang me remember. You're the unknown this time. You rang me from the number on your system, so I'm not going to give my password to someone I can't confirm the identity of. Duh!

Wait until millions of personal details appear on the internet or are sold to crooks. You will see a complete rethink of the whole procedure but not the end as it is integral to the system ie saves money leading to more profit.

Scam's are everywhere. Business moves where costs are low. Why such hype over offshoring, when most of manufacturing has moved from Japan, US and Europe to China, Indonesia etc.
