The first ever to dunk the ball was George Mikan of the Minneapolis Lakers.. So that would make him as the inventor..

Wilt,Dr. J, Wilkins,MJ , and now Vince are his professors of slam.. Teaching the game how to innovate the art in their own generations..

I invented it, though Al Gore has laid a claim to both the Slam Dunk and the Internet. Go figure...he's just jealous.
