i have scoliosis and i went to the doctor and she said that she cant refer me to any specialist cuz my degree isnt big enough. (my spine is like curved in 2 places and the degrees are 15 and 10) so i was wondering if any of u guys has heard something or know a way how to straighten the spine out. like are there any stretches u can do or something. cuz it really is awful to have scoliosis, im serious, i can never feel comfortable around people-always have to really worry about it.

For your degree of curvature I would suggest to ask your doctor to show you some stretches to do. If it gets above 30 degrees than you will be put in a brace which is the worst thing ever, trust me on this I wore one for two years IT SUCKS! Anyways if it gets above fifty degrees than the doctor will start talking operation. I had to have this done and it really hurts! But enough about me for you I would suggest those stretches, they don't hurt, REALLY :) Good luck!

I have scoliosis in 2 places, as well. Usually the doctor will give you stretches to do. I would recommend actually doing them. I never did and regret it now. My sister had a surgery to straighten hers out. They put a metal rod in her back. Going to a chiropractor can help with the pain. There really aren't any ways (non-surgical) to straighten it, but if you do your stretches and keep your back muscles strong it may not get any worse.

Te adn Fifteen. Honey thats nothing. There are excersizes you can do, but it wount correct it farther than that. You cant even brace until you are 20-25 degrees. More people have it than you think too. One in ten people do. I had curves of 72 and 60 before I had to have surgery to correct it, so seriously, dont worry about it.

I have scoliosis and osteoarthritis. Be glad that yours isn't severe! I would suggest a chiropractor. They will do a full exam, to include x-rays, and releive the tension and stress surrounding the curvature. It's painful to start, but I couldn't live without it!

They usually give you some kind of back brace. Don't worry about it so much. Ask your doctor to let you see a specialist anyway, so you can get treated quickly.

I've worked in Neurology and most times a neurosurgeon is consulted. If you need surgery like most do, you can get second opinions from other clinicsl (Wisest call)

Go to the specialist because the wrong exercise will make it worse.
